How to choose suitable size for busbar heat shrink tube

High voltage busbar heat shrink tube is also called busbar heat shrink sleeve generally. It is made from cross-linked polyolefin material and carries excellent physiochemical and electrical properties. Its main function include insulation of electrical connectors and busbar. In other words, it could reduce minimum safe distance between busbar or connectors. Let’s take a look at how to choose suitable size for our customers:


As we all know, it has many types of voltage including 1KV,24KV,36KV in domestic and 1KV,10KV,20KV,35KV in foreign countries. While busbar tube could also be divided into continuous type and division oriented type according to its technology construction.


In general speaking, shrink ratio of 10KV is 2.5:1 while 2:1 in 1KV and 35KV. So we need to consider the following three factors when choosing size:

1).size of busbar which need be protected;
2).shrink ratio of customer needed;

3).What voltage of busbar being protected.


Except the above mentioned, we also need to know below calculation formula about diameter:

 1).diameter of tube≈2(fold diameter-2wall thickness)/π

 2).relationship between wall thickness before shrink WT(B/S) and after shrink WT(A/S):WT(A/S)≈2WT(B/S)
